Beltline Landholdings has officially withdrawn its application for a proposed $16 billion data center project in Pacific, Missouri, following significant local resistance. The development, which had been planned for a 500-acre site near Highway O and the Merrimack River, faced fierce opposition from residents, leading to numerous packed and hostile town hall meetings.
The withdrawal comes after the City of Pacific had previously enacted a 12-month moratorium on new data center applications. A press release from the city's mayor confirmed the developer's decision to formally remove its zoning change request. Consequently, the city announced that all related agenda items would be taken off future meeting schedules, effectively halting the project's progress.
