The Oregon City Council discussed the status of a proposed data center project, which had previously received a six-month extension. A council member expressed strong opposition to granting any further extensions beyond the September deadline, citing a two-year wait and potential financial losses. An environmental study for the project is reportedly underway.

At a recent meeting, the Oregon City Council discussed the status of a data center project being developed by Will Turner of Capacity LLC. Resident Knute Huber raised questions about the latest developments, particularly regarding a six-month extension previously granted to the developer.

Council member Salander reported that he had not received an economic development agreement or heard from an end-user, despite earlier expectations. Salander also mentioned that an environmental study was being conducted at the site. Expressing strong personal opposition, Salander stated he would be "completely opposed to any further extensions" if the current one expires in September, noting that the city has already waited two years and is experiencing financial losses by holding the land for the project.
