Piedmont City Council to vote on proposed data center

The Piedmont City Council is scheduled to vote tonight on a proposal for a data center campus by Cloverleaf. This vote comes after a previous delay.
The proposed data center campus includes several environmental stipulations. It caps water use at 75,000 gallons per day, requires a closed-loop cooling system, prohibits the use of water wells, and mandates independent noise monitoring. For the initial phase, the data center would use up to 75,000 gallons of water daily for up to four months.
Cloverleaf's project is also linked to the Lambda project in Mayes County, which is anticipated to generate $500 million in tax revenue over a decade and create up to 1,000 construction jobs.
