Lexington’s Urban County Council launches online data center forum, information hub
The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council has launched an online forum to engage the public on data center developments. This initiative follows the council's unanimous decision on June 9 to enact a moratorium on data center development, which will remain in effect until October 31, 2026. The forum will provide updates and gather feedback from residents, which will be considered by Council Members as they review local policies.
The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council has introduced a new online public engagement platform, "Engage Lexington," dedicated to data center developments. The initiative comes after the Council unanimously passed a moratorium on data center development on June 9, which will remain in effect until October 31, 2026.
The forum will serve as a central hub for residents to stay informed, provide feedback on proposed ordinance language, and learn about opportunities for in-person discussions. All public input collected through the platform will be made available to Council Members as they proceed with their review of local policies concerning data centers.
