Split Glendale Planning Commission recommends rezoning for data centers, power plant
The Glendale Planning Commission recommended rezoning for the Project Eagle data center and Project Baccara natural gas power plant. The Glendale City Council is scheduled to vote on the rezoning and annexation of the 160-acre parcel during its upcoming Oct. 27 meeting.
The Glendale Planning Commission, following a 4-2 vote on September 24, has recommended the rezoning of a 160-acre parcel for the development of the Project Eagle data center and Project Baccara natural gas power plant. The proposed project includes plans for three 330,000-square-foot data centers and 18 natural gas power generation turbines.
This recommendation now moves the proposal to the Glendale City Council. The Council is slated to cast its vote on both the rezoning and the annexation of the land into the city's jurisdiction during its meeting scheduled for October 27. The site for the proposed development is located near Luke Air Force Base.
