In El Segundo, a community says no to a new data center

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. The City of El Segundo has joined the national debate over AI data centers following significant community engagement.

During a recent planning commission meeting, residents expressed strong opposition to a proposed data center on Nash Street. A developer had submitted an application to demolish an existing hotel on the property and construct a data center. By the conclusion of the meeting, the developer rescinded the application in response to the community's concerns.
