Nashville Mayor orders review of large Data Centers amid community concerns

Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell is directing Metro departments to take a closer look at the impact large-scale data centers could have on communities across the city. On Monday, O’Connell signed an executive order launching a multi-department review of data center development in Nashville. The move comes just days after hundreds of residents packed a Metro Planning Commission meeting to voice concerns about a proposed data center near the Nashville Zoo. Under the executive order, Metro departments will examine how large data centers affect surrounding neighborhoods, including impacts on power and water usage, traffic, air quality and other infrastructure demands.
