xAI is building two additional data centers in Southaven as part of a six-facility supercomputer campus spanning Southaven, Mississippi, and Whitehaven in Memphis. Residents report increased traffic, congestion and noise, while the new facilities are expected to become operational by the end of 2026.
xAI is expanding its artificial intelligence computing campus across the Tennessee-Mississippi state line, with two new data centers under construction in Southaven. The facilities, named Gun Range and Spam, are part of a six-supercomputer campus spanning Southaven and Memphis and are expected to be operational by the end of 2026.
Southaven resident Najja Proby told FOX13 reporter Kate Bieri that construction-related traffic, congestion and noise have increased significantly near his neighborhood. Some homeowners have reportedly received property-buyout offers from SpaceX in connection with litigation involving noise pollution, although the report did not establish whether Proby received an offer or whether the expansion has affected property values.
