Developers have secured a preliminary opinion from Trainer, Pennsylvania, affirming that a data center is a permitted by-right use for a 20-plus-acre property. The legal notice, published by Leonard B. Altieri, attorney for the property owner at 4001 Ridge Road, indicates a favorable initial assessment regarding zoning. Borough Zoning Officer Charles Remaley declined to comment on the proposed facility, and Trainer officials have not publicly discussed the plans.
The property, marketed by Link Logistics, spans Trainer and Lower Chichester Township. Prior to the data center proposal, Link Logistics had engaged with Lower Chichester officials regarding a 443,000-square-foot warehouse, providing funds for a sewer line. It was noted that the proposed project would incorporate a closed-loop cooling system to minimize demands on the public water supply.
Despite preliminary zoning approval, the project faces potential opposition. Chester Residents Concerned for Quality Living (CRCQL), an environmental activist group, is organizing a public meeting in Boothwyn to discuss the project's potential impacts and mobilize community response. Lower Chichester Township is scheduled to hold a commissioners meeting, and Trainer has a caucus meeting scheduled, indicating ongoing local discussions.
