Dixon man accused of threatening Lee Co. leader over data center admits to lesser crime
Harley Delander, a Dixon man, has taken a plea deal in a case where he was accused of threatening former Illinois state representative Tom Demmer over a data center. Delander admitted to petty battery and must complete a 12-month program to have felony charges dismissed.
Dixon resident Harley Delander, 28, has accepted a plea agreement regarding charges of threatening former Illinois state representative Tom Demmer. Delander was initially accused of intimidation and stalking related to a data center issue.
During a court hearing on Wednesday, prosecutors amended the charges against Delander, adding counts of obstruction of justice and petty battery. Delander admitted to petty battery, described as exciting and stirring up actions among Illinois people to promote strife and contention.
As part of the plea deal, Delander is required to complete a special 12-month program. If he successfully completes the program, the felony charges against him will be dismissed.
