DartPoints says it will not build large data center on former Lexmark site
DartPoints, which acquired the former Lexmark site in Lexington, Kentucky, has announced it will not build a large new data center there. Instead, the company plans to only update the existing facility. This announcement comes just a day before the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Planning Commission is set to vote on related zoning changes.
DartPoints, a Dallas-based company, has announced a significant change to its development plans for the former Lexmark facility in Lexington, Kentucky. The company, which purchased the site on West New Circle Road for $29 million in May, initially had a proposed large data center project. However, DartPoints has now stated it will not proceed with building a massive new campus.
Instead of new construction, DartPoints intends only to update the existing facility. This announcement, first reported by the Herald-Leader, comes just one day before the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Planning Commission is scheduled to vote on zoning changes pertinent to the site.
