75th District candidate raises concerns over data center surge

Caroline McCree, a Democratic candidate running for office in Illinois’ 75th District, has declared the surge of data centers in Yorkville as her top priority if elected. McCree, a Yorkville resident, has been an outspoken critic of the numerous data center projects either approved or in the process of approval within the city, stating she feels "our city is kind of under assault." She acknowledged her relief that a state bill is currently being developed to address many of her concerns, though she also emphasized the need to lower property taxes and highlighted gaps in social services. McCree, who works in health information technology, plans to leverage her experience to address data privacy and healthcare access issues. She is challenging incumbent Republican Jed Davis for the seat.
