One resident passionately spoke about wanting a safe environment for their daughter, criticizing data centers as a "horrible use of space" and an "existential threat" due to their environmental impact and volatile economic model.
The moratorium is intended to provide city officials with time to establish comprehensive regulations that will protect residents from the harms associated with further data center development in Fort Worth. Residents emphasized the need to deny any new data center proposals until these protective regulations are firmly in place.
