Poll: Readers say it's not wrong to oppose data centers
An online poll conducted by Magnolia Reporter found that a majority of its readers disagree with former President Trump's assertion that communities opposing data center construction are against progress. Nearly 70% of respondents believed Trump was wrong in his analysis.
The Magnolia Reporter conducted an unscientific online poll, inviting readers to respond to a recent statement made by President Trump. Trump had written that communities opposing data center construction "want to end up being backwards and poor."
The poll, which ran from Saturday, September 5, 2026, asked readers if they agreed with Trump's analysis. The results showed a significant disagreement, with 88 votes (69.29%) indicating that the president was wrong. Conversely, 39 votes (30.70%) supported Trump's view. The publication clarified that its online polls are not scientific and are intended for reader information and entertainment.
