The Frankfort City Council voted 5-2 in favor of a community enhancement resolution tied to DataOne’s proposed $7 billion data center in Frankfort, Indiana. City officials emphasized that the resolution is conditional and does not yet allow construction to begin. DataOne must meet specified conditions, complete environmental and economic impact studies, and receive approval in at least two additional votes.
Frankfort Mayor and other officials said open houses hosted by DataOne provided information about the project, including financial, water and lighting concerns. Kimberly Duff of Clinton County Progressives criticized the meetings as overly managed and said public opinion remained largely opposed to the data center. The report was filed by Lincoln Schlemmer of Star City News.
