The Nodaway County Public Water Supply District No. 1 (PWSD No. 1) in Maryville, Missouri, released a draft feasibility study on water options for the proposed White Cloud Acres data center project. The study, prepared by Kansas City firm Lamp Rynearson and overseen by White Cloud Engineering and Construction, aims to provide transparency regarding water drawing and disposal for the hyperscale facility.

The report indicates that the data center project, which includes a natural gas power plant, would require an average of 70,000 gallons per day of cooling water. This water would primarily be used for emissions control at the power generation facility, according to a memo from Kimley-Horn and Associates, a firm collaborating with the developer, Scale Microgrids, on water-related matters. The PWSD No. 1 Board of Directors stated that the draft was released in the interest of public awareness.
