The discussion at Monday's meeting included questions about a specific data center planned for State Route 374 in Chateaugay. Councilman William Trombly noted that the project originated in 2023 as a small solar development, but later evolved to include a second phase where the solar farm would power a data center. Due to these developments, the town's consultant recommended pausing the review process in October 2023.
The drafted moratorium is expected to be presented to the town council at their next meeting for further consideration.
