Piedmont residents are intensifying their opposition to a proposed data center development by Cloverleaf Infrastructure, known as Project Open Sky. Ahead of a critical Monday vote, residents like Morgan Collard are gathering signatures for petitions, aiming to empower the community's voice in the decision-making process.

The petitions advocate for an 18-month moratorium on the project for further study, a permanent ban on data centers in Piedmont, or the implementation of stricter regulations. Scott Morrow, a resident near the proposed site, emphasized the community's unified effort to stop the project.

Concurrently, Cloverleaf Infrastructure announced it has secured options to purchase over 330 acres in neighboring Kingfisher County. CEO Aaron Bill You stated that while Piedmont remains the preferred site, the Kingfisher County property provides an alternative path forward should Piedmont's city officials reject the current proposal.
