Residents across Grady County, Oklahoma, are expressing significant concern following the purchase of a large tract of land near the town of Amber by a data center company. Aligned Data Centers (OK) Propco LLC acquired approximately 800 acres, located three miles outside Amber, for more than $17 million on July 29, public records indicate. The land's appraised value was previously over $450,000.
The proposed data center development has prompted the Amber town board to schedule a meeting for August 10 to discuss potential actions to combat the project. The community's unease stems from the rapid development plans for the area.
