City of Farmington hosts data center, zoning meeting on Sept. 29
The City of Farmington is holding a special meeting on September 29 to discuss potential changes to its zoning ordinance specifically concerning data centers. This work session will serve as an informational meeting and a listening session for residents to provide feedback. City staff will present the current ordinance and discuss future updates.
The City of Farmington is hosting a special City Council work session on Tuesday, September 29, to address future data center zoning ordinance options. Farmington Mayor Nick Lien requested the meeting, which will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Rambling River Center in downtown Farmington, welcoming residents to attend.
According to a city news release, this meeting is part of a larger zoning update project that began in 2024. The City of Farmington aims to introduce potential changes to an independent section of its zoning code specifically for data centers.
City staff will present an update on the current city ordinance's language regarding data centers, and residents will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and provide feedback. For those unable to attend in person, an online feedback form will be made available after the meeting.
