Skybox Datacenters is continuing its community outreach efforts in Wichita Falls, Texas, ahead of a planned groundbreaking for a new data center in early 2027. Chief Development Officer Haynes Strader emphasized the company's commitment to local partnerships and prioritizing local labor for the project during a public forum held on Wednesday, March 25. Strader stated that the project will require massive local support and that relying solely on outside labor is not feasible.
The forum provided an opportunity for local businesses and individuals to learn more about the incoming data center, with various tables set up to discuss jobs and building usage. Jay Whaley of Whaley Products, based in Burkburnett, attended the forum to connect with Skybox officials about his company's expertise in creating closed-loop systems. Skybox officials confirmed their intention to implement a closed-loop water system for the data center, which Whaley affirmed would prevent water loss.
Skybox officials also participated in the State of the Economy event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, addressing public questions. The company has provided a dedicated email address for further inquiries regarding the project.
