With the rise of AI, there is more need for data storage and that means more power and more water. But, more Massachusetts communities are saying they don't want them. WBZ’s David Wade got a rare tour inside the Markley data center in Lowell offering a closer look at one of the largest facilities of its kind in Massachusetts. He walked through the 350,000-square-foot building, home to thousands of servers storing massive amounts of data. While the company says the site is efficient and not a major strain on resources, nearby residents continue to raise concerns about noise and its impact on their neighborhood.
