Residents of Franklin County, Virginia, continued opposing proposed data center development as the county Planning Commission reviewed revisions to Articles 2 and 3 of its zoning ordinances. The work session addressed anonymous complaints, inspection authority and developer permitting requirements, but commissioners did not discuss data centers in detail.

Christine Sizemore, vice chair of the Franklin County Community Coalition, urged the commission to incorporate data center requirements into the current ordinance or the Berkeley draft rewrite rather than waiting for the broader zoning process to conclude. Commissioners said they plan to take up the issue at their next meeting.
