Mason County Fiscal Court reviewed a proposed development and community benefits agreement for Crisham LLC’s hyperscale data center project near Maysville. The project could involve a 396 MW facility, a $10 billion investment, major water and sewer upgrades, and substantial payments to the county and school district. The fiscal court was scheduled to vote on the agreement on Oct. 13.
The Mason County Fiscal Court reviewed a proposed agreement with Crisham LLC for a phased hyperscale data center project in Mason County. The initial phase would include a 396 MW, approximately 700,000-square-foot facility on about 2,900 acres, with construction potentially beginning within 36 months and the full development taking at least a decade.
Under the agreement, the company would make payments through a PILOT structure, fund project-related infrastructure and electric service costs, and provide millions of dollars annually to Mason County and the Mason County School District. The proposal also includes $40 million to $60 million for water and sewer expansion, funding for a new Maysville water treatment plant, public safety payments, road improvements, and job and payroll commitments.
Attorney Jim Parsons, representing the fiscal court, said the agreement would protect local residents and ratepayers from project costs while ensuring guaranteed revenue for the county and school district. The fiscal court was scheduled to vote on the agreement at its Oct. 13 meeting, with related property and cemetery matters also set for consideration.
