The company is reportedly interested in hundreds of acres of rural farmland situated near the Dubuque Regional Airport, specifically near Old Davenport Road between Laudeville Road and Feeney Road.

Dubuque County officials had initially declined to name the company involved in the land acquisition discussions. However, emails obtained via a public records request by the Telegraph Herald revealed that Karis shared "site info for our proposed project east of the airport" with Dubuque County Zoning Administrator Ben Kober on May 15.
