Sedgwick County leaders are seeking to extend temporary rules governing data center development. The current moratorium is scheduled to expire on September 10th.

Commissioners initially adopted these interim controls in January. City staff now recommend an additional six-month extension, pushing the deadline to February 25th. This extension would mean the interim rules would be in place for just over a year. Policies related to battery energy storage and solar systems are also approaching a deadline, with the commission expected to make a decision on those as well.
