Madison County being asked for data center moratorium

Organizations throughout Indiana are urging local governmental bodies to implement moratoriums on data center construction. The statewide initiative has reached Madison County, where the Madison County Plan Commission is scheduled to deliberate on a request for a data center moratorium. The proposed moratorium will be a key agenda item at the Commission's May 12 meeting, which will take place in the council chambers of the Madison County Government Center in Anderson. While Meta recently broke ground on a 1,500-acre data center campus in Lebanon, this specific effort focuses on halting future developments within Madison County.
