End date set for Riley County’s data center moratorium

Riley County has officially enacted a six-month moratorium on the development of new data centers and battery energy storage centers. The Riley County Commission initially agreed to adopt the measure last month, with the formal implementation process commencing after commissioners signed a resolution on Monday. The resolution is set to go into effect upon its publication in The Mercury and will remain active until November 12.
