The Glendale City Council approved annexation and rezoning for Project Eagle/Baccara, a proposed data center development on approximately 160 acres near Northern Avenue and Olive Avenue. Plans call for three data center buildings and a natural gas power facility with 18 turbines, allowing the project to move forward in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

The approval came despite opposition from nearby residents, who questioned air quality, safety, water availability and potential impacts on Luke Air Force Base. Council members also sought clarity about the project's water supply and effects on the power grid before voting to approve the final land-use actions.
