The Carroll County Fiscal Court in Carrollton did not advance an agreement tied to Poe Companies and Powerhouse Data Centers' proposed 800-megawatt data center near Interstate 71 and the Kentucky River. County officials have been working with the Montrose Group on a community benefits agreement, and the proposed measure would have required the developers to cover the consulting fees.

The vote ended in a 2-2 tie, causing the measure to fail. One fiscal court member said their responsibility was to Carroll County taxpayers and residents rather than the developers or consultants, and expressed opposition to another data center in the county. Developers and county leaders had not announced their next steps.
