A Birmingham judge directed attorneys in a group of lawsuits over the Nebulous AI data center to meet and narrow their discovery disputes. Plaintiffs subpoenaed Regions Bank, Alabama Power, U.S. Steel, two law firms and Iron City Premier Realty, which is owned by Kendra Wingo, the wife of Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin. Attorneys for the subpoenaed parties argued that some witnesses and organizations have no relevant connection to the data center transaction.

The lawsuits include claims by nearby residents, a class action brought by residents of Oxmoor Valley and a case involving the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, which planned to build a facility next to the property. Plaintiffs say they need information about the property sale and the planned substation and switchyard, while defense attorneys are seeking to limit testimony and document production. Construction at the Lakeshore Parkway site is continuing as plaintiffs pursue a temporary injunction that could halt work before trial.
