The Piedmont City Council approved amended design conditions for the proposed Cloverleaf data center campus but delayed a final vote on the project until Nov. 12. The conditions include a 75,000-gallon daily water-use cap, a developer-funded water study, six miles of new sewer infrastructure and a requirement that Frisco Road remain open amid strong resident opposition.

Piedmont City Council approved amended master design conditions for the proposed Cloverleaf data center campus, moving the project closer to a final approval vote after nearly five months of delays. The revised conditions cap water use at 75,000 gallons per day, excluding fire suppression, and require the developer to fund a study examining potential effects on the city’s water supply and master-plan goals. The project would also require about six miles of new sewer line.

The council did not approve the data center itself and scheduled a final vote for Nov. 12. It also amended the plan to prevent the closure of Frisco Road, which borders the campus. Hundreds of residents have criticized the proposal, and the meeting included a heavy police presence. A separate Beltline data center proposal is expected to receive similar review, including landscaping, sound and study requirements, before proceeding to rezoning hearings.
