Katz advocated for Hoosier communities to proactively negotiate with data center developers to secure infrastructure benefits, such as mandating operators to provide their own power generation and contribute excess energy to local grids. He also dismissed common environmental concerns, specifically refuting claims that modern cooling systems would deplete local waterways like the Wabash River, noting their reliance on closed-loop technology.
