Mexico City Council extends data center moratorium
The Mexico City Council extended the city’s data center moratorium through Nov. 30. The extension gives officials time to hold a public hearing, gather resident feedback and revise a proposed ordinance regulating data centers before a vote.
The Mexico City Council in Missouri extended its data center moratorium through Nov. 30 after determining it needed additional time to develop regulations. Deputy City Manager Drew Williford presented a staff report on the proposed ordinance, and City Manager Bruce Slagle said the city planned to incorporate public input before bringing the measure back to the council.
A public hearing is scheduled for Nov. 9, with written comments accepted until 4 p.m. that day. The revised ordinance is expected to receive further consideration at the council’s second November meeting on Nov. 23.
