The "KNOW LOWELL DATA CENTER" group, which funded the billboard, is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the identification of the person caught on camera in a safety vest and hard hat. A group member, Schroder, stated that their message seems to be "striking a nerve" and highlighted the community's unified stance against the data center since the summer.
The vandalism occurred ahead of a Lowell Township Board meeting where several data center-related topics are on the agenda. The meeting, scheduled for 7 o'clock tonight at the middle school to accommodate a larger audience, is considered an important opportunity for residents to express their views.
