Frederick County Council approves plan that paves the way for more data centers

The Frederick County Council approved a proposal that allows for data centers to be built on over 2,600 acres of land in the rural part of the county, doubling the size of the current data center campus.

By a 5-2 vote, members approved a proposal that allows for data centers to be built on a little more than 2,600 acres of land in the rural part of the Maryland county, which is double the size of the current data center campus where an aluminum smelting plant once stood.
