Kerr Regional Citizen Voices, a regional group representing residents of Vance and Warren counties, called for a two-year pause on data center development in Vance County during a press conference in Henderson. The group is responding to Natelli Holdings' site plan for a proposed 900-megawatt data center filed in September.

Speakers including Deborah Ferruccio, Tina Faiella, Angela Thornton, Hope Crabtree and Christian Somerville urged local governments to disclose development applications and communications with developers and consultants. They cited concerns about electricity and water demand, environmental and public-health impacts, effects on agriculture and tourism, and potential damage to cemeteries, Native American mounds, eagle nests and other historic or natural resources.
