Liberty County commissioners in Georgia approved a 120-day moratorium on new data center permits and applications. County Attorney Kelly Davis said the county has no pending data center applications and that the moratorium will not affect ongoing development reviews.

Davis said the pause will give county officials time to examine existing ordinances and develop rules addressing potential data center impacts, following similar actions by local governments elsewhere in southeast Georgia.
