Nashville Zoo urges peaceful rhetoric amid data center fight
The Nashville Zoo is urging its supporters to remain peaceful amid their ongoing opposition to a proposed DC BLOX data center next door. This plea follows reports of threats made against Market Street, the owner of the property slated for the data center, which the zoo strongly disavowed.
The Nashville Zoo has issued a public appeal for peaceful conduct among its supporters in the contentious dispute surrounding a proposed DC BLOX data center intended for an adjacent property. The zoo stated that as "summer temps have heated up, so has the rhetoric around this issue," prompting their call for calm.
According to a spokesperson for the zoo, there have been reported threats made against Market Street, the owner of the property designated for the data center development. The Nashville Zoo unequivocally condemned such behavior, asserting that it does not endorse any threats toward individuals involved on either side of the debate or their families.
The zoo emphasized the critical importance of maintaining focus "on the facts and on our ongoing concerns about the impact this will have on our community, including both humans and animals." While urging continued public engagement and support for "stronger legislation" to prevent the data center's construction, the zoo reiterated that "threats only detract from the issue and distract from our ultimate goal."
