The Pocatello City Council is scheduled to hear an appeal on July 16th at 6 p.m. in the city hall council chambers concerning the denial of a conditional use permit for a proposed AI data center. The appeal was filed on June 1st by Lex Developments LLC, the company behind the data center project.

The denial by the hearing examiner came approximately two months after a public hearing on the proposal, which lasted over four hours. The examiner stated that Lex Developments LLC failed to provide sufficient information to demonstrate that the project could be adequately served by public utilities or that it would avoid adverse environmental impacts. The upcoming appeal hearing will be restricted to evidence and testimony presented in previous hearings, precluding the introduction of new information.
