WTOL11 reports that Van Wert County, Ohio, is poised for a major economic transformation with the announcement of a QTS data center campus. The project, described as a "massive" development, is expected to attract approximately $10 billion in investment to Northwest Ohio over the next two decades.
City officials highlight the project's potential to generate $200 million in local tax revenue and create more than 1,500 construction jobs, along with approximately 200 permanent positions. Leaders believe this development will significantly benefit local schools, workforce training initiatives, public safety, and other community projects.
Environmentally, the QTS data center is planned to incorporate a closed-loop cooling system specifically designed to minimize water consumption. A public community event is scheduled for June 11th from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Vantage Career Center, where residents can learn more, ask questions, and provide feedback on the project.
