Greensboro City Council is scheduled to hold its final data center work session at the Melvin Municipal Office Building, with public participation available in person and online. The session will examine energy systems and power, featuring presentations from Alexander Hubbard of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Dalia Patiño-Echeverri of Duke University.

The meeting is part of a broader city review of data center regulation. Greensboro’s existing 180-day moratorium remains in effect through Feb. 14, 2027, while city staff develop proposed language for the Land Development Ordinance. A 14-member Data Center Ad Hoc Committee is reviewing expert and community input and will provide feedback on draft ordinances before regulations are considered by the City Council in February.
