Democratic nominee for Pulaski County Judge, Wendell Griffin, convened a news conference on Monday, August 25, advocating for the Pulaski County Quorum Court to adopt a new set of rules.
The proposed regulations would mandate conditional use permits for large-scale data centers and establish specific standards for their operations, monitoring, and inspections. Griffin highlighted concerns regarding the long-term implications, asking, "What happens if data centers are no longer in vogue 10 years from now? Who pays for the decommissioning of a data center? How do we figure that out?"
The Pulaski County Quorum Court is scheduled to address these proposals at its public meeting, set for tomorrow at 6:00 p.m.
