LG Electronics plans to invest 150 billion won, or about $110 million, in a new chiller manufacturing plant in Windsor, Virginia. The 32,000-square-meter facility, located on a 170,000-square-meter site, is scheduled to begin production in the first half of 2027 and will primarily make air-cooled chillers for AI data centers.

The company also plans to expand chiller production and upgrade equipment at facilities in South Korea. LG Electronics said the Virginia plant will shorten delivery times and stabilize supplies for technology companies building data centers in North America, while its broader portfolio includes chillers, coolant distribution units and cold plates for high-density computing systems. Lee Jae-seong, president of LG Electronics' Eco Solution division, said the company intends to expand its cooling-solution capacity as demand for AI data center infrastructure increases.
