We Energies has reached an agreement that would allow Oracle to use 10% to 20% of the electricity generated by Wisconsin’s Point Beach nuclear plant for its Project Lighthouse data center campus in Port Washington. The arrangement requires approval from the Wisconsin Public Service Commission and could save other utility customers about $300 million in fuel costs over five years.

We Energies announced a proposed agreement allowing Oracle to subscribe to a portion of the electricity produced by the Point Beach Nuclear Plant in Manitowoc County. The power would support Project Lighthouse, an artificial intelligence-focused data center campus in Port Washington that Oracle is co-developing with OpenAI.

The deal still needs approval from the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. We Energies spokesman Brendan Conway said the arrangement could reduce fuel costs for other utility customers by roughly $300 million over five years. Point Beach is owned by NextEra Energy, while We Energies continues to purchase most of its output under long-term agreements.
