The former Lexmark and IBM data center campus in Lexington, Kentucky, has been acquired by Dallas-based data center operator DartPoints for $29 million, according to property records and company officials.
The 343,000-square-foot campus on New Circle Road features over 81,000 square feet of existing data center space across two buildings. The sale was finalized on May 15. DartPoints intends to expand the facility to cater to the increasing demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and hyperscale data services. The site currently supports 20 to 30 megawatts of power, with plans to upgrade to up to 70 megawatts.
The redevelopment efforts are expected to be accelerated by the property's existing robust electrical infrastructure and favorable data center zoning.
