The Dubuque County Board of Supervisors is actively planning the development of a data center ordinance for the local community. This initiative follows the recent enactment of a 12-month moratorium on data center development within the county.

Leaders intend to hold regular Monday meetings to discuss their next steps and strategy. Additionally, four public information meetings are scheduled before October to share details with the community and solicit feedback. Supervisor Wayne Kenniker emphasized that this structured approach would be more productive for addressing high-priority issues in Dubuque County within the remaining 11 and a half months of the moratorium. The first public comment session is set for June 23rd at the Pia Center Rex Center.
