The program offers a five-week training curriculum and job offers from contractors working on Meta projects. It will launch in key markets including Indiana, Louisiana, Ohio, and Texas to address the nationwide shortage of skilled construction workers for data centers.

Meta Platforms Inc. and Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) have announced a new partnership to establish America's Workforce Academy, a $115 million initiative aimed at training thousands of data center construction technicians. The program seeks to create construction-ready career pathways to meet the increasing demand for data center workers across the United States.

The academy will feature a five-week training program that includes career readiness, safety training, core curriculum, and craft training. Upon successful completion, participants will receive job offers from contractors involved in Meta's construction projects. Scholarships, travel, housing, and living expense stipends will be provided to qualified job seekers.

According to Michael Bellaman, ABC president and CEO, the collaboration with Meta and CBRE will leverage ABC's nationwide educational ecosystem, with programs launching at ABC chapter training centers in markets such as Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Houston, Texas. Samantha Roman, President of ABC New Jersey Chapter (ABC-NJ), highlighted the program as an innovative solution to the ongoing construction workforce shortage, offering an accelerated path for new entrants including high school graduates and veterans. Dina Powell McCormick, Meta President and Vice-Chairman, emphasized the program's role in building the infrastructure for the AI revolution.
