Zoning approved for Mega Data center in OKC
Oklahoma City leaders approved zoning for a mega data center planned on both sides of Interstate 40 near Frisco Road. The project, backed by Belt Line Energy, will operate under what the company’s attorney called the most restrictive data center zoning terms in the city’s history, while the city’s broader data center moratorium is set to expire and may be extended.
Oklahoma City leaders approved zoning for a mega data center near Frisco Road on both sides of Interstate 40. Belt Line Energy agreed to zoning terms that the company’s attorney described as the most restrictive regulatory conditions for a data center project in the city’s history.
The approval comes as Oklahoma City’s broader moratorium on data center development approaches its scheduled expiration at the end of the year. Mayor David Holt has indicated that the moratorium could be extended for another six months.
