Missoula County staff will present a draft study on the potential effects of data centers at the Missoula County Fairgrounds on Oct. 27. The study is intended to help county leaders develop regulations addressing health, safety and environmental concerns while a one-year moratorium on new or expanded data centers outside city limits remains in effect.

Missoula County staff planned to present a draft study on Oct. 27 at the Home Arts Building at the Missoula County Fairgrounds. The study examines how data centers could affect the county, including potential impacts on public health, safety and the natural environment.

County leaders enacted a one-year moratorium in July on new or expanded data centers outside city limits. The study is expected to inform future decisions about how Missoula County regulates data center development, and residents were invited to attend the presentation.
